Sometimes you can go step by step when setting up your Gmail account and for some reason, it does not seem to work.
I did this and all appeared OK until I tried to send/receive folders, at which point it did it again! I'm not sure whether it's a co-inceidence or not, but my Organisation switched on Multi-Factore Authentication, and then my other machines satrted running into the same problem. Just trying to set up the account in Outlook I had to login to my Google account 4 times!!

Why is Outlook asking me to sign into Google and allow access to apps offline EVERY SINGLE TIME I open, send or delete an email from my gmail account? I did notice, that in the Advanced Tab for "Internet Email Settings" there is now a type of encryption for both Incoming and Outgoing connections - whereas there used to be just the one for Ougtoing (I think).
